So instead of pulling down the city, I left in more or less sanded over, and now there’s even some life outside the walls.

I just haven’t had the time to take it down and build something new. My RL is very hectic and I only get to spend 2-4 hours a week in SecondLife, and I tend to spend that time exploring and hanging out with friends.

So Vimmershavn may be destined to be taken down, but as for the time being, it shall remain and remain open.

I have enjoyed designing and maintaining Vimmershavn very much. It was fun to build a whole city and also fun to ad new stuff to it as I found it. But the other day I went to get some off-sim islands for the ground at Landscapes Unlimited, and the Sahara Landscape grabbed my creativity – I want to do another desert – my first desert was on Binemist.

I am in no rush though, so you still have time to go and visit Vimmershavn (SLurl) again – or for the first time if you haven’t been already. There are some very good photo ops, if you have that interest.

Vimmershavn has had a good amount of visitors in the 9 months it has been open, and some have taken some very good snapshots there and they have shared them in the Vimmershavn Flickr Group

Death Row Design is a commercial outfit, so of course you can buy all the buildings in San Mora, and as I was hanging out at the Faire, I thought about how much I wanted to recreate my own version of San Mora. I have plenty of prims to spare at Binemust, so I decided to build a place on a platform above Binemust – a place that pays homage to San Mora, but also a place that is very different from San Mora. My own decaying city, so let me introduce:

Vimmershavn

Vimmershavn is a walled-in city where life seem to have vanished, but of course it hasn’t. If you look closely, you will find pockets of hope and life even within in the city.

Outside the city Nature has reclaimed the space. No animals as of yet, but plenty of greenery. Someone has made a very cozy living space in the ruined buildings in the mist of Nature – it’s pure hygge.

There is only one scary place in Vimmershavn and that is the very old ruins where the Musical Souls have been trapped.
