I have started the change

I got really fed up with all the snow all over the place in SL and also on my own SIM! So I decided to do something about it. The beauty of SecondLife is that if you are unhappy with something, you can change it fairly easily. I called on Smækker to help me with the final snowy picture from Binemist, and he was very forth-coming – he has a new winter’s coat that he likes to show off…

We are sort of standing in front of the house waving guests goodbye, telling them that we will be back soon, if that makes sense.

Shortly after this picture was taken, I filmed the SIM in it’s winter glory (I have yet to process the footage), and then I started taking everything down. Massive job, and I might have forgotten – or overlooked – a few things (note-to-self: Go over the SIM and look for transparent prims). I want a watersim, so I started by planning everything out to just 10 cm under water level. It was easier than I thought – terraforming was always a bit tricky, but flattening is easy.

I want a central starting point/welcome area, and I did have a beautiful platform/pergola in my inventory from legendary UrbanizeD, but it was no modify, so I couldn’t do anything with it. So that went back into my inventory. Instead I built up the welcome area of Mesh building blocks from PREFABRICA – a great resource for all sorts of stuff.

Now that is done, I have to figure out what else I want to do with Binemist – it’s very exciting and it is going faster than I thought, so I might even open up the SIM to the public on Monday 6th. Now there’s a nice target!
